Travelport announced the formal launch of Travelport TripServices, its modern, cloud-native API platform. The launch, said the announcement, marks a defining step in Travelport’s transformation into an AI-ready travel technology company.
Where legacy travel systems depend on fragmented sources and cryptic-based workflows, said the announcement, Travelport TripServices normalizes and curates content across multiple sources from a single connection, intelligently surfacing the best options and orchestrating complex booking workflows within the platform that have historically consumed engineering time. All of this, said the announcement, makes building and maintaining travel experiences simpler, meaning a slicker traveler experience.
The platform is already live with Travelport’s partner base. Content for air, hotel and ancillary services currently flows through Travelport TripServices, with the platform’s intelligent content curation technology continuously improving results across search, ranking, pricing and fulfilment, according to the announcement.
John Mangelaars, CEO, said, “Travelport was built on the principle that complexity should sit with us, not with our customers.” Travelport TripServices, he said, “is the fullest expression of that principle yet.” He said the company has taken decades of travel retailing knowledge and rebuilt it as a modern AI-ready platform, one that learns, adapts and improves continuously. For Travelport’s partners, said Mangelaars, “this means better content, smarter recommendations and a level of retailing capability and scale that simply was not possible before.”
“Travelport TripServices was designed from the start to work with AI, not around it,” said Andrew Jordan, chief product and technology officer. “AI agents need clean, structured, normalized data and deterministic APIs to operate effectively … that is what Travelport TripServices provides.” As agentic travel workflows move from concept to reality, he said, “Travelport TripServices gives builders the foundation they need: an API platform that behaves predictably, surfaces the right content and handles the complexity of travel fulfilment automatically.”
TripServices is also the platform through which Travelport’s recently announced collaboration with Cognizant and Anthropic takes effect. That partnership, said the announcement, brings deeper AI capability into the workflows and platform features travel builders rely on, reducing manual work, improving decisions and delivering more relevant traveler experiences.
Travelport TripServices delivers, according to the announcement:
- AI-powered content curation delivering normalized, curated results across flights, stays and extras from a single modern API platform;
- Built-in orchestration to dramatically simplify integration and ongoing maintenance — absorbing the complexity into the platform, freeing up more time for agency engineering teams;
- Intelligent search and ranking that improve with every transaction;
- Rapid integration for new content categories, enabling partners to expand their retail proposition without complexity or supplier management overhead;
- Consistent, reliable performance at scale, built on cloud-native infrastructure designed for the demands of modern travel and emergent AI traffic.
The company said it is already in advanced discussions with a number of major agency groups and travel management companies on expanded Travelport TripServices deployments, with further announcements expected later in 2026.
