Corporate travel buyers are increasingly relying on their TMCs to ensure their travel programs are sustainable, according to research from Business Travel Show America.

Annual global buyer survey data analyzed from the last four years (2022, 2023, 2024, 2025) details a marked increase in the number of buyers who are relying on their TMC to ensure their programs are sustainable, increasing from just over a fifth (22%) in 2024 to nearly a third (32%) this year. The trend, says the report, correlates with increased government legislation and directives around emissions reporting at both a national and global level.

There is also a growing trend among buyers, said the report, to better inform travelers of the carbon impact of corporate travel, rising from around a quarter in 2022 and 2023 —26% and 25% respectively — to more recently over a third — 35% — in 2024 and 2025.

This rise also indicates there is a growing appetite for carbon emissions data from both travelers and buyers as reporting tools and legislation have both developed at pace in recent years.

The trends were published ahead of the inaugural Business Travel Show America, which takes place Oct. 15 – 16 at the Javits Center, New York.
