American Airlines To Offer 7 Additional International Routes Next Year

American Airlines will add seven new international routes, including three new

destinations, next year. Brian Znotins, senior vice president of network and schedule planning, said: “Our international network has expanded to offer destinations to satisfy every travel palate. Combined with our investments enhancing our onboard product and inflight experience, travelers have more reasons to choose American when they fly around the world.”

American will offer daily service on all new summer 2027 routes. Tickets will be available for purchase starting Aug. 31 at AA.com or through American’s mobile app.

New routes include:

  • Charlotte, N.C., to Barcelona (May 27) on Boeing 777-200ER
  • Chicago to Tokyo Narita (March 19) on Boeing 787-9
  • New York (JFK) to Amsterdam (March 28) on Airbus A321XLR; and Nice (May 6) on Airbus A321LXR
  • Philadelphia to Porto, Portugal (March 28) on Airbus A321LXR; Reykjavik, Iceland (May 27) on Airbus A321neo; and Vienna (May 6) on Airbus A321XLR

American will serve Porto and Vienna for the first time ever, while offering flights to Reykjavik for the first time since 2019. According to an announcement, American will be the only US airline serving Vienna, expanding the airline’s central European network that grew in 2026 to also include Prague and Budapest.
