Take2Eton Group, a global independent TMC, is expanding its established US energy and marine travel business internationally with the opening of a new operation in Aberdeen, Scotland, according to an announcement. The expansion, said the announcement, builds on Take2Eton’s Texas-based energy and marine operation, which has been serving clients in the sector for the past three years and today manages a portfolio representing a combined multi-million-dollar travel spend.

The new Aberdeen operation will be headed by Graeme Fyvie, the newly-appointed executive vice president, energy & marine, who takes up the role on Nov. 2.  A 32-year travel industry veteran, according to the announcement, Fyvie has extensive experience in specialist energy and marine travel. He will report to Take2Eton Group CEO Julie Oliver.

The move, said the announcement, creates specialist Take2Eton energy and marine capabilities on both sides of the Atlantic, enabling the TMC to support existing and future clients across two major global energy markets and strengthening its proposition to internationally operating businesses.

Chris Thelen, founder and chair, Take2Eton Group, said: “We have spent the last two years building a strong energy and marine business in the US. Aberdeen is the next stage in that strategy and gives us specialist expertise and presence on both sides of the Atlantic.”

Energy and marine businesses, said Thelen, “operate internationally by their very nature.” They need a travel partner, he said, “that understands the complexity and urgency of the sector but can still provide highly personal and responsive service.” That combination, said Thelen, “is where we believe Take2Eton has a very strong proposition.”

Fyvie joins Take2Eton from Reed & Mackay, the London-headquartered global corporate TMC, where he spent 14 years and held senior operational and management roles within its energy division. Most recently he was general manager based in Aberdeen. He previously held roles with HRG, American Express Travel and Munros Travel.

Fyvie said: “Take2Eton has already established a successful energy and marine operation in the US, so this is about taking those strong foundations and building a genuinely transatlantic proposition. Aberdeen remains an incredibly important center for the sector and I’m excited about what we can build by combining local expertise with Take2Eton’s existing US capabilities.”
