American Express Global Business Travel announced the appointment of Daniel Beauchamp as vice president of global strategic meetings, a newly created role. He previously led Amex GBT’s global consulting and venue sourcing teams, where he launched several initiatives, including the Meetings & Events and Inclusive Travel practice lines, according to the announcement. The appointment comes just days after the TMC announced that Drew Crawley had succeeded Paul Abbott as CEO, following the completion last week of investment firm Long Lake Management’s acquisition of Amex GBT. In the new role, Beauchamp will lead both business operations and commercial strategy for the TMC’s strategic meetings business, the company said. He first joined Amex GBT in 2006 and held various managerial roles before moving to HRG as director of UK sales. HRG was later acquired by Amex GBT.
