US-Based Agency Air Ticket Sales Up 18% Year Over Year, Says ARC

Ticket prices are down month over month but up significantly year over year

US-based travel agency air ticket sales totaled $9.6 billion in July — an 18% increase from July 2025 and a 6% increase from June, according to Airlines Reporting Corp. Total passenger trips settled by ARC rose 6% month over month and 4% year over year, reaching 25.8 million in July.

Steve Solomon, chief commercial officer, said, “July numbers reinforce the trends we have seen all year: the market for travel sold in the US is healthy and travelers continue to plan and take trips.”

  • US domestic trips rose 7% month over month and 3% year over year to 16.5 million. International trips rose 5% month over month and 5% year over year to 9.3 million.
  • The average economy class ticket price was down 1% month over month and up 17% year over year to $565.
  • The average premium class ticket price fell 1% month over month and was up 12% year over year to $1,415.

 NDC transactions accounted for 21.2% of total ARC-settled transactions in July, which was a slight decrease from last month’s 21.6%. In July 2026, 1,186 travel agencies reported NDC transactions.
