Travel Incorporated, a TMC, announced the launch of PTA Travel Alerts, a new intelligence engine within its proprietary People Track Assist platform designed to help organizations take a more proactive approach to protecting employees while they travel.

“Traveler safety is no longer about just sending a text message when a flight is canceled or when a crisis occurs,” said Eric Almond, head of product. He continued: “Organizations have a fundamental duty of care obligation to protect their workforce. PTA Travel Alerts closes the gap between risk detection and response by giving travelers and travel managers the intelligence, context and immediate steps required to stay out of harm’s way and keep operations moving smoothly.”

Corporate travel risks, said the announcement, can extend far beyond a canceled flight or delayed connection. Employees may find themselves in the path of political unrest, severe weather, natural disasters, public health events, security incidents or other rapidly developing situations, often with little warning. PTA Travel Alerts is designed to help organizations identify those risks in real time and provide travelers with actionable intelligence tailored to their individual location and itinerary.

Rather than relying primarily on broad, one-size-fits-all notifications, said the announcement, PTA Travel Alerts continuously brings together global event intelligence with traveler itineraries, location and supplier proximity, weather and other contextual data. This allows organizations to identify which travelers may be affected and provide relevant information and guidance while an event is unfolding.

The platform includes eight core capabilities spanning real-time risk detection, traveler impact identification, location awareness, actionable guidance, environmental intelligence and risk classification. Together, they are designed to help travel managers and travelers understand what is happening, who may be affected and what steps they can take in response.

PTA Travel Alerts is available immediately to Travel Incorporated clients. In addition, said the announcement, the TMC is preparing to introduce additional enhanced features to People Track Assist in the near future, expanding how organizations can identify, understand and respond to risks affecting their traveling workforce. More details will be announced soon.
