A man passionately protesting during a labor strike in front of a banner reading "Hilton Hawaiian Village ON STRIKE! UNITE HERE." The man is wearing a black T-shirt with the text "RESPECT OUR WORK" and raising his fist in the air, expressing determination and solidarity. Other protesters in the background hold similar signs, with tropical trees and buildings visible under a clear sky.

San Francisco’s hotel labor strikes have ended after about 900 Hilton employees at the Hilton San Francisco Union Square and Parc 55 hotels ratified a contract. The agreement came after three months of rolling walkouts, with the city being the last to be affected by nationwide disputes that began on Labor Day weekend organized by United Here, the union of hospitality employees.

The Hilton agreement includes an initial hourly wage increase of $3, preserved health insurance, enhanced pensions and enhanced protections for understaffing and workload increase. The agreement is valid through 2028.
At their peak, the San Francisco strikes involved roughly 2,500 workers at Hilton, Hyatt and Marriott International hotels, involving 27% of the city’s hotel inventory.

Lizzy Tapia, president of Unite Here Local 2, said, “Hilton, Hyatt and Marriott workers refused to give up their health care or go backwards.” As contract talks begin with the city’s other full-service hotels in the new year, she said, “they should know that this is the new standard they must accept for their employees.”
