A year after the first Garner Hotel opened in Auburn, Washington, the IHG Hotels & Resort brand has more than 90 properties open or in the pipeline around the world. Of the 76 properties signed in the first half of 2024, 58 came from European markets, extending the brand’s presence to Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, the UK and Turkey. The brand is focused on conversions of existing hotels.
Garner hotels will soon debut in Japan, with three upcoming openings in Osaka. This rapid start, according to IHG, furthers the brand’s progress toward a goal of having 500 hotels open worldwide during the next 10 years and 1,000 locations over the next 20.
Karen Gilbride, vice president, Garner hotels, Avid hotels and Atwell Suites, said the latest openings in the Americas and beyond “illustrate the growth and momentum we are building and the brand’s potential to redefine the midscale space.”
Garner hotels, said Gilbride, aim to deliver “easygoing stays that get you on your way.” Features that include complimentary breakfast, 24/7 bean-to-cup coffee and daily cookie happy hour, she said, “define the distinct and purposeful Garner hotels experience.”
