Southwest Airlines has promoted Justin Jones, executive vice president of operations, to chief commercial officer. He joined the airline in 2001. The move, according to the airline, frees up COO Andrew Watterson, who for the past year had pulled double duty overseeing Southwest’s commercial side amid structural changes, to fully focus on the carrier’s operations. In Jones’ new role, he will lead network planning, capacity planning, revenue management, pricing Southwest Business and airport affairs.
