Lyft is expanding its Price Lock feature so that it will now be available 24 hours a day. Originally launched in Fall 2024, Price Lock allows riders to secure predictable prices for their most frequent trips. It had only been available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This expanded feature, according to an announcement, reflects Lyft’s ongoing focus on understanding rider needs and creating solutions tailored to real-life use cases. Riders can sign up for Price Lock directly through the Lyft app by selecting the “Price Lock” option and following the prompts.
Audrey Liu, head of rider and community safety, said the innovation was informed by customers. She said that what has happened since the launch are the use cases across so many different scenarios.
The use cases for Price Lock around the clock are many, according to the announcement, and can apply to any place or person visited with regularity. Examples of how riders can lock in a price outside of their commute include: fitness, health care appointments and more.
