Carrier will offer NDC content via GDS for first time
Frontier Airlines has signed an enhanced distribution partnership with Amadeus, offering customers a broader range of personalized travel opportunities through third-party channels, according to an announcement. Under the terms of the deal, the low-fare carrier will offer NDC content to travel sellers via a GDS for the first time.
With the support of Amadeus and its NDC capabilities, said an announcement, this partnership represents yet another step in the airline’s New Frontier transformation, “balancing its low-cost DNA with an enhanced customer experience and expanded premium offerings.”
In addition to its traditional distribution via EDIFACT, said the announcement, “this new partnership provides a seamless transition to enhanced messaging that will drive additional value for customers with access to more options and more visibility to the best pricing available.” It will also provide access to featured products like seat assignments and offer a streamlined process for making changes to travel plans, among other benefits.
Bobby Schroeter, chief commercial officer, Frontier Airlines, said the airline’s ongoing transformation “underscores a commitment to providing exceptional value and a superior travel experience for our passengers.”
Distribution of NDC‑based content through the Amadeus Travel Platform, said Schroeter, “is a vital component of this change, modernizing our distribution capabilities so we can offer a seamless, personalized booking experience.”
Rajiv Rajian, chief commercial officer, Americas, Amadeus, said that with the enhanced partnership, “Amadeus will collaborate with Frontier Airlines to leverage the benefits of NDC technology and create new distribution opportunities.”
Amadeus’ NDC technology, said Rajian, “enables new opportunities for Frontier, including enhanced ancillary services and personalized offers, which are all crucial for enhancing the customer experience and maximizing revenue.”
