Delta Air Lines announced that Peter Carter would be promoted to president, replacing Glen Hauenstein, who retired Feb. 28; and Dan Janki, who has been CFO, will be named COO following the retirement of longtime operations leader John Laughter. The company also appointed Erik Snell as CFO, Ranjan Goswami as chief marketing and product officer, and Alain Bellemare as chairman of Delta TechOps.
After more than three decades of service, John Laughter will retire as COO and president of Delta TechOps, effective April 30.
Snell joined the airline 20 years ago and was most recently chief customer experience officer. Goswami has been serving as senior vice president – customer experience. And Bellemare has previously been CEO of Bombardier Inc. and CEO of UTC Propulsion & Aerospace Systems.
According to the announcement, Carter will take on a larger role driving enterprise strategy in addition to global policy and legal matters, Delta’s international portfolio, real estate, and sustainability and diversity teams. Delta’s CEO, Ed Bastian, said that in Carter’s decade at Delta, he has “led initiatives that touch many important aspects of Delta’s business and has been a constant source of strategic insight and long-term vision that will be essential to the company’s future success.”
