Amadeus reported a strong third quarter with air distribution bookings increasing 15.7% to $348 million. In addition, group revenue increased 23.2% to €4,086.5 million and adjusted profit was up 67.6% to €875.8 million.
Luis Maroto, CEO, said the results were driven by strong operating performance by each reported segment. He said the industry’s recovery and Amadeus’ commercial wins bolstered the business. Although the company continues to monitor the macroeconomic and geopolitical situation, said Maroto, “we can confirm our outlook for the year and remain optimistic about the growth opportunities ahead of us.”
During the first nine months of the year, air distribution revenue reported an increase of 25.9% over 2022 to €2,027.6 million, resulting from a 15.7% increase in air distribution bookings and an expanded average revenue per booking. Over this period, Asia-Pacific was the fastest growing region, where bookings rose by 75.3%, followed by western Europe, which grew by 15.7%. North America and western Europe were the most productive regions, each representing close to 30% of bookings.
For hospitality and other solutions, revenue was 17.8% higher than the first nine months of 2022, reaching €650.4 million. Both hospitality, which generates the majority of the revenues in this segment; and payments delivered strong growth when compared with the same period of 2022, supported by new customer implementations and volume expansion.
