Turkish Airlines will begin flights from Istanbul to Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Dec. 10. With this new destination, Cambodia will become the seventh country served by the carrier in southeast Asia and Phnom Penh will be the 11th city in the region.
The Phnom Penh flights, according to an announcement, will expand the carrier’s Far East network to 20 cities and 21 airports. The airline will operate flights to Phnom Penh via Bangkok three times a week. They will depart from Istanbul to Phnom Penh on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, while flights from Phnom Penh to Istanbul will be operated on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays
Ahmet Bolat, the airline’s chairman, said that the ariline continuously expands its network in Asia and strengthens its connections with strategic destinations in the region. The launch of Phnom Penh flights, he said, “marks a significant step forward in this goal.” He said Turkish Airlines is the only European carrier flying to Phnom Penh.
