LOT Polish Airlines will offer four-times-weekly flights between Warsaw and San Francisco beginning May 6. The service will operate every Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. San Francisco joins Chicago, New York, Newark, Miami and Los Angeles as US gateways for the carrier.

LOT Polish, a Star Alliance member, will operate Warsaw-San Francisco with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft configured with business, premium economy and economy cabins. It will be the only airline flying the route.

Robert Ludera, director of the network department for LOT Polish, said transatlantic flights are of strategic importance for the carrier. In the past 12 months, he said, 800,000 passengers traveled on all LOT flights between Poland and the US.

Not only will the new route connect the heart of Europe with the global hub for technology and innovation, said Ludera, but it will also open up new opportunities for both business travelers and tourists. San Francisco, along with neighboring Silicon Valley, he said, “is the cradle of numerous global brands and a location that consistently attracts entrepreneurs and investors from around the world.”
