Hotels.com announced the launch of a new “business travel experience” that helps travelers book and manage work trips more quickly. Rolling out globally on the Hotels.com website and app, it allows travelers to switch to a personalized travel mode, find hotels that match their work travel preferences and earn rewards for future stays.

“Business travelers book differently than leisure travelers. They book last-minute, decide in minutes and need flexibility above all else,” said Hari Nair, senior vice president and general manager of Hotels.com. For years, he said, “they’ve been quietly choosing Hotels.com anyway for the flexibility, the property selection and the rewards.” Now, said Nair, “we’ve built an experience that’s actually designed for how they travel, not just tolerant of it.”

Business travel on Hotels.com, said the announcement, is designed for those who book work trips on their own and want work travel to be simpler and more rewarding.  It allows users to:

  • Rebook a preferred hotel quickly. With Quick Rebook, business travelers can rebook a preferred hotel in a few clicks.
  • Create a personalized business travel experience. Travelers can select their preferred property features and amenities, from cancellation policy to maximum nightly rate. When business mode is switched on, Hotels.com uses those preferences to show pre-filtered results. Preferences can include: fully refundable stays, breakfast included, gym, star rating and guest rating, and maximum nightly rate based on company policy.
  • Earn rewards on business stays that they can use on future travel, turning nights booked for work into value they can use on their own time.
  • Filter for fully refundable stays to keep plans flexible, often allowing travelers to cancel up to 24-48 hours ahead of check-in.
  • Easily switch between leisure and business travel.
