Delta Air Lines will add new nonstop routes from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Monterey (Calif.) and Philadelphia, alongside increased service to seven US destinations, according to an announcement. Changes involving LAX include:
- Monterey: Twice-daily nonstop service beginning Dec. 19, operated by Delta Connection using an Embraer 175 aircraft. (Delta will also launch daily nonstop service between Salt Lake City and Monterey the same day.)
- Philadelphia: Daily nonstop service beginning June 7, 2027, operated on an Airbus A321neo
- Raleigh-Durham: Increasing to two daily flights beginning April 12, 2027
- Boston: Increasing to five daily flights beginning May 6, 2027
- San Diego: Increasing to five daily flights beginning June 7, 2027
- Cincinnati: Increasing to two daily flights beginning July 11, 2027
- Houston: Increasing to three daily flights beginning July 11, 2027
- San Antonio: Increasing to three daily flights beginning July 11, 2027
- Seattle: Increasing to eight daily flights beginning July 11, 2027
Amy Martin, vice president of network planning, said, “With new service to Monterey from both Los Angeles and Salt Lake City, alongside our continued growth at LAX, we’re creating more opportunities for customers to connect to the places they want to go while building on our long-term commitment to Los Angeles and the West.”
Next summer, according to the announcement, Delta will operate the largest and “most premium” experience in its history at LAX. Together with its partners, Delta will offer more than 200 daily departures at the summer peak.
Delta’s investments at LAX, said the announcement, create a more seamless and premium journey for customers. Investments include:
- Modernized airport experience: Delta’s $2.3 billion Sky Way at LAX, according to the announcement, transformed Terminals 2 and 3 into a connected, state-of-the-art campus designed to support the airline’s long-term growth in Los Angeles. Continued enhancements to wayfinding, security processing and terminal amenities make the experience more convenient and efficient for customers.
- Dedicated Delta One experience: Delta One customers enjoy a dedicated Delta One Check-In experience, including private TSA security screening. Customers also have access to exclusive Delta One Lounges.
