EasyJet and IHG Hotels & Resorts announced the launch of a new global partnership between their business traveler programs, EasyJet Plus and IHG Business Edge.
As companies seek more value, flexibility and anticipation in their travel, said the announcement, the partnership illustrates how collaboration between players in the travel ecosystem can bring tangible benefits to business travelers. Aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), said the announcement, this collaboration combines the benefits of air transport and hospitality.
IHG Business Edge was launched in 2018 and, according to the announcement, now serves tens of thousands of enrolled business accounts globally.
As part of the agreement, EasyJet Plus SME customers will be able to receive accelerated access to IHG One Rewards Gold Elite status after their first eligible stay, subject to applicable terms and conditions. They will also be able to access IHG Business Edge benefits, including preferred rates and loyalty benefits at participating IHG hotels around the world.
IHG Business Edge members will receive a 10% discount on a new EasyJet Plus membership. This will allow them to enjoy the benefits of the program, including priority access to security screening when available, priority boarding, seat selection and the ability to bring an additional carry-on bag.
Through this collaboration, said the announcement, the two partners aim to meet the challenges facing companies today: better controlling their travel budgets, gaining flexibility and improving the traveler experience, from departure to hotel stay.
