BCD Travel has announced the launch of British Airways’ NDC content. The collaboration, said the announcement, is part of the TMC’s dedicated strategy to accelerate NDC availability and grow those bookings at scale while giving customers dependable access to comprehensive content.
Thane Jackson, senior vice president, global distribution strategy and supplier management and delivery at BCD, said, “As a global TMC, being able to deliver British Airways’ NDC content is a testament to our strong partnership and collaboration with the British Airways team and our distribution systems partners.”
Over the past decade, BCD has consistently invested millions of dollars each year in its NDC program, said the announcement, recognizing it as a key component of modern retailing and a crucial part of its commerce strategy.
BCD’s open platform, said the announcement, makes the TMC uniquely equipped to deliver NDC at scale. It combines multisource content from GDSs, leading aggregators and direct connects. The platform consolidates, normalizes and enriches the content, applies program intelligence, and shares it across both traveler and agent point-of-sale for a simple and streamlined experience.
Colm Lacy, chief commercial officer at British Airways, said, “NDC enables tailored offers in real time, delivering an even more seamless, customer-centric shopping experience.” The partnership with BCD, he said, “is a significant step towards our NDC and modern retailing goals.”
