Iberia will inaugurate a daily flight between Madrid and Newark Liberty International Airport on March 29. This new flight complements the two daily frequencies the airline already operates to JFK airport in New York.
Flights will depart Madrid daily at 7:35 p.m. and arrive in Newark at 10:25 p.m. They will depart Newark at 11:55 p.m. and arrive in Madrid at 1:20 p.m. the next day.
The Newark service will be operated by Airbus A321XL aircraft, offering a premium experience with the new Airspace cabin, LED lighting and two classes: Business and Economy.
María Jesús López Solás, Iberia’s chief commercial, network development and alliances officer, said, “The addition of Newark not only strengthens our presence in New York with a third daily frequency but also expands options for our customers by offering greater flexibility in schedules and fares, along with the advantages of multifrequency service.” Newark’s proximity to Manhattan, she said, makes it an excellent choice for the corporate market.
Iberia serves 10 destinations in the US. In 2025, Iberia will offer nearly 2 million seats between Spain and the US and an average of 150 weekly flights. This winter season, the Spanish airline will operate two daily flights to New York and Miami; up to two daily flights to Boston and Puerto Rico; and three weekly flights to Washington, which has evolved from a summer-only route to year-round service. Iberia also maintains daily flights to Chicago, four weekly flights to Dallas Fort Worth and Orlando, and three to Los Angeles. San Francisco continues as a summer route, with three weekly flights from May to September.
