Avianca announced the launch of a new seasonal nonstop route between San Salvador and Chicago, to begin on June 3. This initiative, said the announcement, strengthens El Salvador’s connection with the US during the peak travel season.

The service will operate three times weekly using Airbus A320 aircraft, each with a capacity of 180 passengers, providing a total of 1,080 weekly seats between Chicago O’Hare International Airport and El Salvador International Airport.

Flights will depart Chicago at 5:25 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays – arriving in San Salvador at 9:05 p.m. They will depart San Salvador at 10:25 a.m. on the same days and arrive in Chicago at 4:05 p.m.

Avianca already has 13 nonstop routes between the US and El Salvador. Through its hub in San Salvador, passengers can also connect to other Central American destinations, including Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama, Nicaragua and Honduras.
