Alaska Airlines will launch nonstop service from Seattle to Paris and Athens next May. Both routes will be seasonal, ending in the fall. The carrier will fly Seattle-Paris De Gaulle five times weekly, with service beginning May 25 of next year and terminating in October.

The airline will fly Seattle-Athens three times weekly beginning May 12 and ending in October. Alaska said it is the first to offer Seattle-Athens service, and the route will become the longest in its network.

On the Seattle-Paris route, Alaska will compete against Delta Air Lines and Air France.

Athens and Paris will be the sixth and seventh transoceanic routes for Alaska as it continues to build a long-haul network in the aftermath of acquiring Hawaiian Airlines two years ago. The carrier currently flies from Seattle to London; Rome; Reykjavik, Iceland; Seoul, South Korea; and Tokyo.

The airline will fly both new routes with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners featuring business class and economy cabins and free high-speed WiFi for Atmos loyalty program members.

Alaska said it plans to be flying 12 long-haul routes from Seattle by 2030.
