The Travel and Meeting Society (TAMS) announced the inauguration of the TAMS Learning Lab, which the organization calls “a sophisticated new educational platform meticulously designed to fortify skills, expand industry knowledge and accelerate career trajectories within the dynamic global travel and meetings sector.”

TAMS, according to the organization, is a nonprofit initiative committed to uniting professionals from across the entire travel and meetings ecosystem.

The Learning Lab’s foundational offering, TREX Travel 101, is now open for enrollment, marking, said the announcement, “a significant step forward in professional development for the industry.”  TREX, according to the announcement, is an online education company headed by co-founders Tristan Lockie and Garth Jopling, both corporate travel industry veterans with experience managing TMCs, travel management and consulting to the industry.

TREX Travel 101, said the announcement, is “a comprehensive online, modular learning program specifically tailored to serve a diverse audience, including new entrants to the field, experienced staff seeking to broaden their expertise and individuals aspiring to embark on a career in the industry.”

Leveraging the capabilities of the TREX3 Learning Management System (LMS) platform, said the announcement, TAMS Learning Lab offers advanced digital studying with intuitive navigation, progress tracking, modular content and interactive assessments, ensuring efficient and effective learning for all proficiency levels.

This training tool, said the announcement, was built by industry veterans and has undergone a rigorous peer-review process.  “Education drives our innovation,” said Ted Cullen, corporate travel manager, Bio-Rad Laboratories and TAMS board member. “When we invest in people and empower them with knowledge,” he said,  “we’re helping the industry we love grow stronger, more connected and better prepared for what’s ahead.”

TREX Travel 101 is available now through TAMS Learning Lab. TAMS is offering a complimentary one-year membership for those who register by April 30, 2026.

Jopling, a newly appointed TAMS board member, said:  “Our goal is to help professionals thrive.  TREX Travel 101 provides the foundational knowledge that every travel professional will have, whether they are entering the industry or advancing within it.”
