Spotnana, a travel technology platform, announced that it has developed a new role-based access control system designed to provide “unprecedented flexibility and control.” Now, according to the announcement, TMCs and travel managers can ensure every user has exactly the right level of access to data and functionality — nothing more, nothing less. This creates, said the announcement, a more secure, efficient and tailored experience for everyone.

Spotnana’s role-based access control consists of three core elements: roles, groups and scope. Together these define who can do what and where within the platform. A role is a defined set of permissions aligned to specific responsibilities. Instead of granting full administrative access, administrators can assign permissions based on a user’s responsibilities. Examples of the specialized roles include:

  • Reporting administrator: Access and run analytics.
  • User management administrator: Add, edit or remove user profiles.
  • Company settings administrator (read only): View policies without making changes.
  • Event management administrator: Create and manage event travel.
  • TMC settings administrator: Full access to TMC settings and configurations.
  • Agent: Access the task dashboard and booking tools.

In the future, said the announcement, Spotnana will support the ability to define custom roles based on a configurable combination of permissions.

In addition, Spotnana said it has developed an “industry-first” capability for stealth travel to address the need for confidential travel. Powered by enhanced role-based access control[1] , said the announcement, stealth travel makes designated travelers and their trips completely invisible to unauthorized users.

With Spotnana’s role-based access control framework, said the announcement, TMCs and corporations can create dedicated groups to manage stealth travel. Organizations and TMCs can assign stealth administrators, stealth travel agents and stealth arrangers to manage these travelers and their trips securely, said the announcement, without compromising oversight or efficiency.
