Route features three daily roundtrip flights

Porter Airlines announced that it has launched a year-round service between Toronto Pearson International Airport and LaGuardia Airport in New York City.

The addition of LaGuardia, said the announcement, further deepens Porter’s commitment to the New York metropolitan area, where the airline has operated between Newark and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport since 2008.

With up to three daily roundtrip flights between Toronto Pearson and LaGuardia’s new Terminal B, said the announcement, Porter now offers more choice and flexibility for travelers to one of the world’s most in-demand business and leisure destinations.

The schedule has flights departing Toronto at 7:15 a.m.; 2:50 p.m.; and 7:25 p.m. for the roughly 90-minute flight. Flights depart LaGuardia at 6:15 a.m.; 9:55 a.m.; and 5:30 p.m.

The new route, said the announcement, now connects passengers to every region in Canada, including Calgary, Edmonton, Halifax, Montréal, Ottawa, Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Vancouver.

Flights are operated with Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. The 132-seat plane features a two-by-two seating configuration, meaning no middle seats for any passenger. All travelers get free, fast WiFi, complimentary beer and wine served in glassware, and premium snacks.

For those seeking additional amenities, PorterReserve fares include priority check-in, extra legroom and flexible ticketing. These benefits are also available à la carte with PorterClassic fares.

Andrew Pierce, vice president, network planning and reporting, said that “New York is an essential market for Porter, and this new service to LaGuardia complements our long-standing operation at Newark.” The combination of Billy Bishop, Pearson, LaGuardia and Newark, he said, “is unique among airlines, providing a number of options for going back and forth between the two cities.”
