Appointments and promotions at World Travel, Inc.; Norse Atlantic and Avoya Travel

World Travel Inc., a TMC, announced that Barbara Bernard will become CEO, replacing Liz Mandarino, who will leave the post on Jan. 1. Barnard has been with the company for 18 months, continuing a long career in travel management and other industries. Pam Zager was named president and COO. Mandarino, who has been with the company for 34 years, will become chair of the board.

Norse Atlantic, a low-cost carrier, has named Eivind Roald as its president and CEO, He replaces founder Bjorn Tore Larsen, who will become chairman of the board. Roald most recently was CEO of consultancy CRST Advisory. His previous roles include nearly six years at Scandinavian Airlines, including as chief commercial officer, CEO of QNTM Group, managing director of Hewlett-Packard Norway and partner at Accenture, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Avoya Travel, a travel agency network, has named Karl Treier as chief technology officer. In this newly established role, he will lead the company’s IT and product development teams. Treier has over 20 years of executive technology leadership. Before joining Avoya, according to an announcement, he spent eight years with RSM’s Private Equity Consulting Team, where he specialized in technology M&A advisory and guided businesses through large-scale digital transformations.
