Avis Budget Group has named Brian Choi as its new CEO, effective July 1. He had most recently served as the company’s chief transformation officer after holding the CFO title from August 2020 to December 2023. Prior to joining the company, Choi was a partner at SRS and had worked at Metalmark Capital and Lehman Brothers.

Serko Ltd., the business travel platform, announced the appointment of Tarun Phaugat as vice president of engineering. He has more than two decades of engineering leadership experience within the enterprise and travel technology sectors, most recently serving as engineering lead for the Uber for Business platform, and previously in senior roles at Airbnb, Apple and Microsoft. In addition to his role as vice president of Engineering, Phaugat will also serve as a leader in the strategic and operational growth of Serko’s development hub in Bengaluru, India; and join Serko’s Booking.com for Business Leadership Team.
