Mobile, AL – Hyatt Hotels Corporation has broken ground in Mobile, AL, on the first property under its Hyatt Studios brand. Hyatt Studios is the hotel group’s entry into the upper-midscale category. Located 10 miles from Mobile International Airport in Tillman’s Corner, the property is set to open in early 2025. Targeting both the extended-stay and transient markets, each Hyatt Studios hotel will have self-service amenities, a 24-hour market, and in-room kitchens.
 
Baja California, Mexico – Hilton has announced the signings of two franchise agreements that will mark the debut of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton in Baja California, Mexico. The two conversion properties are the 90-room Perla La Paz in La Paz and 70-room Tropicana Los Cabos in San Jose del Cabo. Built in 1940, the historic 90-room Hotel Perla recently underwent a $10 million renovation and is expected to join the Hilton portfolio as Perla La Paz, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. The Tropicana Inn, located near the city’s center, will debut as Tropicana Los Cabos, Tapestry Collection by Hilton. Both properties are set to open in 2024.

Highlights include a striking rooftop deck offering 360-degree views, three innovative dining concepts and state-of-the-art event spaces
