Enhancements will be made to facilities across South America
The LATAM Group plans to invest $10.5 million in a new space at Lima’s Jorge Chávez Airport and is designing a new $18 million facility in São Paulo’s Guarulhos Airport that is scheduled to open in 2027.
Additionally, in late February, LATAM started remodeling its lounge at El Dorado International Airport in Bogotá and plans to expand the lounge at Miami International Airport in the coming years.
Paulo Miranda, vice president of customers, said the new lounges will align with the one already in operation in Santiago since 2022, featuring modern and comfortable areas inspired by South American architecture, culture, hospitality and national elements.
The new lounge in Peru, scheduled to open in the coming months, will consist of two independent areas — Signature and Premium — that share a reception zone and cover 26,300 square feet. LATAM anticipates that 24,000 passengers will utilize the space each month by 2026.
Design work on LATAM Airlines Brazil’s lounge in Terminal 3 of São Paulo will begin this year. The lounge will span 50,500 square feet, making it the largest in Latin America, according to the carrier.
In Colombia, the airline is investing $500,000 in renovating its lounge to provide a more comfortable experience, starting in May.
The group’s Signature lounges are accessible to passengers with Black Signature or Black status in the carrier’s loyalty program, as well as for those in business class. Premium lounges are for passengers with Platinum status and those traveling in premium economy, regardless of their status.
Other Latam lounges are accessible to passengers with Black Signature, Black or Platinum status, as well as those in business or premium-economy class, regardless of their status, according to Latam.
