Carrier also announces a stronger partnership with Southwest Airlines
Icelandair has launched a seasonal Reykjavik-Nashville route, with four weekly flights scheduled through the end of October. The city becomes the carrier’s 18th destination in the US.
The carrier also announced it has expanded its partnership with Southwest Airlines, the largest carrier operating out of Nashville. Passengers, according to an announcement, can now book seamless connecting flights via Nashville, Denver and Baltimore, offering convenient onward travel to approximately 90 destinations across North America.
This partnership, said the announcement, significantly enhances Icelandair’s North American network and opens up more travel options for both leisure and business travelers.
This route aligns with Icelandair’s resurgence in transatlantic operations for 2025. In addition to Nashville, there are new routes to Miami and expanded service to destinations like Baltimore, Pittsburgh and Detroit.
The Reykjavik-Nashville route deploys Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft accommodating 160 passengers, with 16 seats reserved for Saga Premium class and 144 for Economy class.
The flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Flight durations are approximately 7 hours 20 minutes westbound from Iceland to Nashville, while the return trip is about 6 hours 45 minutes.
