Hahnair, a provider of airline distribution solutions, announced what it called a “pivotal” interline agreement with Southwest Airlines. This partnership, said the announcement, significantly enhances the carrier’s global footprint, enabling it to generate incremental revenue by extending its distribution reach beyond the US market. Effective immediately, travel consultants can book Southwest flights under the WN code in the Amadeus GDS and issue tickets on Hahnair’s HR-169 ticket stock. Access through all Travelport GDS will follow soon.

Alexander Proschka, chief commercial officer for Hahnair, said, “Welcoming Southwest Airlines to our leading network of over 350 partner carriers marks a significant milestone for our worldwide connectivity.” Through this partnership, he said, “Hahnair is offering 100,000 travel agencies outside of the US access to Southwest Airlines’ extensive flight offerings, while at the same time delivering an efficient and comprehensive distribution solution to Southwest Airlines.”

Andrew Watterson, Southwest’s COO, said the partnership with Hahnair “ensures that consumers in geographies we do not serve have the viable option of booking with Southwest.”

Travel consultants can verify Southwest’s availability in their respective markets by using the Quick Check tool on hahnair.com.
