Groupize, a provider of meeting and event management solutions for the life sciences industry, announced that it has introduced DSai, an AI-powered way to manage health care professional (HCP) sign-ins for in-office visits, speaker programs and medical events —eliminating the inefficiencies and errors of traditional paper sign-ins. DSai is an addition to the Groupize suite of solutions for life science companies.

Life science companies have struggled with manual sign-in processes that pose significant challenges to Open Payments program compliance for years, according to the announcement. Paper-based sign-ins, said the announcement, lead to incomplete records, transcription errors, and inefficiencies that increase compliance risks.

(The Open Payments program is a national disclosure program that promotes a more transparent and accountable health care system. Open Payments houses a publicly accessible database of payments that reporting entities, including drug and medical device companies, make to covered recipients like physicians.)

Groupize has digitized this process with an end-to-end solution, leveraging QR codes, HCP license validation and seamless integration with Concur Expense. Now, with DSai, companies have even greater flexibility, allowing attendees to sign in electronically via QR code, in-app, or even on paper — with AI-powered optical character recognition reading ensuring all data is accurately captured.

Key features of Groupize DSai include:

  • Flexible sign-in options: Attendee sign-in available via QR code, mobile app or paper sign-in sheets.
  • AI-powered optical character recognition scanning: Automatically reads and digitizes handwritten sign-in sheets, ensuring accurate data captures.
  • Self-service HCP license validation: Enables health care professionals to validate their credentials in real time.
  • Extensive integrations with SAP Concur solutions: Ensures compliance with financial and regulatory requirements through real-time expense synchronization.
  • Attendee compliance completion scores: Tracks and scores compliance status and analyzes engagement on a compliance dashboard.
  • Automated Sunshine Act reporting: Reduces administrative burdens and ensures seamless regulatory compliance.

Charles de Gaspe Beaubien, chief commercial officer, said that “Leading life science companies are undergoing a radical transformation, moving away from outdated, error-prone processes and adopting modern, efficient solutions.” While others have attempted to fix this issue in the past, he said, “our deep integrations with SAP Concur and HCP licensing, combined with AI-powered automation, finally remove all the friction.”
