Fare Audit and CTS Systems announced a technology collaboration to track hotel commissions on corporate bookings on a daily basis. Fare Audit has all four of the major GDS and has developed the technology to “scan” a hotel segment in the GDS to identify if the rate booked is commissionable and at what percentage. CTS specializes in ensuring that hotel commissions due are paid in a timely manner to the TMC or corporate travel department (CTD).

Mark Lewington, CEO of CTS, has found that in the absence of “chasing” hotel commissions by the TMC or CTD they would only get one-third of what should be expected from the hotels. The CTS commission collection program, he said, improves the collection rate to closer to 90% of what is due.

Andrew Menkes, president of Fare Audit, said the company has audited millions of passenger name records (PNRs) over the last 32 years, and when Partnership Travel Consulting acquired the company in January of 2025, “we explored the synergies between PTC [supplier sourcing] and FAI [supplier auditing].” In collaborating with CTS proactively, said Menkes, buyers “can focus on collecting the commissions that Fare Audit can identify on a daily basis.”

In a statement, Lewington and Menkes said, “All parties benefit from this new partnership, other than perhaps the hotels who will end up paying more than the passive collections; but at the same time, they won’t have to respond to requests for payment on bookings that are net.”

CTS has been in business for 25 years, according to the announcement, specializing in developing and implementing custom-designed payment solutions in the hospitality space that improve the process and maximize results for clients. Fare Audit, said the announcement, is the only independent corporate travel auditing company.
