British Airways will begin nonstop service from London’s Heathrow Airport to St. Louis Lambert International Airport on April 19. It will be the carrier’s only new US route to launch this year.

The seasonal flight, according to an announcement, will operate four times weekly from April through October, offering international travelers seamless access to St. Louis and the broader Midwest.

Customers have a choice of three cabins — World Traveler (economy), World Traveler Plus (premium economy) and Club World (business class). Brad Dean, CEO of Explore St. Louis, said, “When British Airways chooses St. Louis for its only new U.S. route, it sends a strong signal about where the city is headed.”  This is a meaningful step forward for St. Louis’ international reach, he said, and a major vote of confidence in what the city can compete for globally. More importantly, said Dean, “it strengthens our ability to attract leisure travelers, meetings, conventions and business investment in a way extends well beyond the airport.”
