BCD Travel announced that it will participate in the New Distribution Capability (NDC) FastTrack program, a cross-industry initiative that brings together providers, users and technology partners to accelerate the implementation of NDC and modern retailing. NDC FastTrack, said the announcement, focuses on resolving technical issues and sharing of best practices that may prevent or restrict scalable NDC adoption.
Through the program, BCD will contribute both as a user and a technology partner. With its Travel Commerce Platform and distribution expertise, said the announcement, BCD will seek to address technical barriers to NDC content becoming more accessible, serviceable and data-rich for corporate clients.
Thane Jackson, senior vice president of supplier management and delivery at BCD, said the company’s involvement in NDC FastTrack “underscores our commitment to advancing adoption of NDC delivering full functionality and choice for corporate travelers.” BCD Travel’s clients, he said, expect content to be consistent, transparent and easy to service. That’s evidenced, said Jackson, by the company’s enablement of 17 airlines’ NDC across the world and clients booking up to 65% of their air bookings using NDC fares.
For corporate travel buyers, said the announcement, the initiative means greater confidence that new distribution models will deliver the control, visibility and travel experience they rely on today.
