Avianca, a part of the Abra Group, announced that its Insignia business class experience will be available on flights to and from New York operated with Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Passengers can now purchase the option, and the first flights deploying this concept will begin operating on Aug. 4.

Insignia, according to the airline, features lie-flat business-class seats that recline 180 degrees, a Mola Sasa amenity kit featuring Loto del Sur products, a welcome beverage, unlimited snacks, a curated selection of wines and spirits, entertainment on individual seatback screens and priority service. Customers also receive access to dedicated Insignia by Avianca check-in in Bogotá, airport lounges and priority boarding, as well as one carry-on bag, two checked bags and 10 LifeMiles for every dollar spent.

This premium product in the region, according to the announcement, is complemented by the offering from Brazilian airline GOL, also a member of Abra Group, which began operating three weekly flights between Rio de Janeiro and New York on July 8 featuring its Insignia by GOL business-class cabin.

Katherine Stradaioli, Avianca’s senior vice president of customer experience, said, “New York is one of our most iconic routes and a key gateway for connectivity across the Americas.” By expanding Insignia within the region, she said, “we are taking a decisive step toward offering a differentiated service that places comfort and the customer experience at the center of everything we do.”

Insignia by Avianca is also available on flights to and from Europe, including Madrid, Barcelona, Paris and London.
