European airplane maker Airbus has delivered a total of 766 aircraft to 86 customers in 2024. The totals include 75 A220s, 602 in the A320 family, 89 widebody aircraft in the A330 and A350 families.
The Airbus Commercial Aircraft business added 878 gross new orders, bringing its 2024 backlog of aircraft on order to 8,658.
“2024 confirmed sustained demand for new aircraft,” Christian Scherer, CEO of Airbus Commercial Aircraft said. On deliveries, we kept our trajectory and celebrated several landmark firsts. These include the first ever A321XLR as well as first A330neo and A350 deliveries to several customers globally.”
At the beginning of 2024, Airbus had initially projected making 800 deliveries for the year. However, a series of supply chain bottlenecks throughout the year forced the company to scale back that ambitious target.
Nonetheless, Airbus topped its year over year totals by some 31 aircraft, and finished well ahead of US rival Boeing, which announced it had made 348 deliveries in 2024.
