Choice Hotels International has named Joshua Sloser as chief commercial officer, reporting directly to the CEO, Pat Pacious. In this role, according to the announcement, Sloser will develop and implement the company’s commercial strategy, overseeing the digital channels, including ChoiceHotels.com and mobile app, revenue management, third party distribution and customer service to drive business growth and market share. Sloser, according to the announcement, brings more than two decades of leadership experience to Choice Hotels, with a career spanning the hospitality, restaurant and travel industries. Most recently, he served as global senior vice president, customer and commercial innovation at McDonald’s. Prior to joining McDonald’s, Sloser spent nearly a decade at Hilton, holding several senior roles in digital and e-commerce. He has also held several leadership positions for airline and travel companies, including America West Airlines, Cendant, Ciber Consulting and Travelocity.
Accor has named Ranju Alex as CEO for South Asia. She has been Marriott International’s area vice president for South Asia, overseeing nearly 170 hotels in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Alex began her career at Oberoi, where she spent 15 years before moving to Marriott.
