Mary Ellen Hess, executive vice president of business development for North America for the Corporate Travel Management Group, was named GBTA Allied Member of the Year at the GBTA convention last week.

Hess, according to an announcement, “is someone well known across the North America managed travel space and beyond.” She has championed buyer and supplier education at GBTA and chapter levels, said the announcement, as well as TMC excellence across all categories.  
Within GBTA Foundation programs, said the announcement, Hess “has been a tireless advocate for mentorship, research, and leadership advancement.”  

Hess has served for many years on GBTA’s Allied Leadership Council and the GBTA Foundation’s WINiT Strategic Advisory Board. She is, said the announcement, “always stepping up and providing a guiding voice for our industry practitioners dealing with constant challenges and change. “
