Lynx Air, a Canadian low-cost carrier, announced that it will add Boston and San Francisco to its network, with service to those cities from Toronto. Flights to Boston will begin on March 28, followed by San Francisco on May 3.
At that point, according to the announcement, Lynx will be operating more than 10,000 seats per week to and from the US from Toronto.
Vijay Bathija, chief commercial officer, said the additions are a “significant milestone” for the airline. He said the company’s strategy is to fly to destinations where airfares are historically high and low-cost options are limited.
The Boston flights will operate on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday in both directions from March 28 to April 21, increasing to six days weekly on April 22. The San Francisco flights will operate Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday in both directions from May 3 through June 10, increasing to daily on June 11.
Lynx, a privately owned carrier, operates a new fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft that, according to the announcement, make it one of Canada’s most sustainable airlines.
