The loyalty partnership between JetBlue and Japan Airlines (JAL) will end on March 31, only a year after it started.

The reciprocal agreement allows members of the airlines’ respective loyalty programs to redeem points for flights on the other airline, but the arrangement does not include point accrual. The agreement focuses on Tokyo, Boston and New York JFK. JAL flies twice daily from Tokyo Haneda to JFK and daily from Tokyo Narita to Boston. 

From Tokyo, JetBlue customers have been able to redeem points for onward flights on JAL’s network, and JAL customers have been able to leverage JetBlue’s extensive domestic operations beyond Boston and JFK. 

JetBlue said it will honor existing JAL bookings and that JetBlue customers can continue to redeem points for JAL flights until March 31, including for flights after that date. Changes and refunds remain possible within ticket validity.
