Service will begin Oct. 3 with three flights weekly, increasing to daily in December
EVA Air, the Taiwan-based carrier, announced it will offer its new, fourth-generation Premium Economy class in the US this fall on its upcoming Taipei-Dallas/Fort Worth route, set to begin operating on Oct. 3. The airline said it was the first in the world to offer a Premium Economy category in 1992.
The Dallas-Fort Worth route, announced earlier this year, expands EVA Air’s growing US network as the airline becomes the first Asian carrier to serve two cities in Texas (Houston as well). The route will commence with three flights weekly using the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner in a three-class configuration. Frequency will increase to five flights per week starting Nov. 18, with daily service launching on Dec. 15.
Andrew Su, executive vice president of EVA Air North America, said, “This product evolution reflects our commitment to providing passengers with greater comfort and convenience, while addressing growing demand for a more spacious and refined long-haul travel experience.”
The newest Premium Economy cabin, first revealed earlier this year, features 28 seats in a 2-3-2 layout, with a seat pitch of 42 inches, a cradle-style recline that maximizes personal space and “premium” leather finishes. Passengers will also get a 15.6-inch HD touchscreen, adjustable tray tables designed for digital devices, individual power outlets, ample storage and privacy panels.
