Icelandair and Alaska Airlines have agreed to a bilateral codeshare agreement that will allow passengers to combine flights from both airlines under a single ticket. According to an announcement, the agreement will allow the carriers to create more seamless experiences, including linked baggage handling, on routes served by each airline. It will also enable increased and improved connectivity for US travelers across Europe and for Europe travelers to the US West Coast and beyond with Alaska’s service to Hawaii and Asia, the carriers said.
As part of the new codeshare agreement, officials said, loyalty point accrual and redemption will be reciprocal to both airlines.
Alaska Airlines is launching summer service to Iceland on May 28, 2026.
Kirsten Amrine, vice president of revenue management and network planning for Alaska Airlines, said, “The addition of Reykjavík expands Alaska’s global footprint, connecting our guests with even more of the world through the elevated service they know and love.”
Bogi Nils Bogason, CEO, Icelandair, said, “By combining Icelandair’s comprehensive network of around 60 destinations across the North Atlantic with Alaska’s strong presence along the US West Coast, we are creating even more opportunities for convenient and flexible connections between North America and Europe for our customers.”
