Concur Travel, through a partnership with Thrust Carbon, has become the first online booking tool to integrate emissions calculations assured to the ISO 14083 standard. The standard was created to offer a single, globally recognized framework for calculating greenhouse gas emissions across all transportation modes.

Currently live, customers of the new Concur Travel have access to ISO-assured emissions data, giving them reliable sustainability metrics which will enable their organizations to align with incoming international standards.

By harmonizing methodologies, ISO 14083 addresses the confusion and inconsistency caused by the multiple methods currently used to calculate emissions. The standard also aligns with climate initiatives like the European Union’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) which mandates emissions reporting for over 50,000 companies globally, starting in 2025.

“At SAP Concur we understand that sustainability is no longer a ‘nice to have’ but rather a business imperative,” said Charlie Sultan, president of Concur Travel, SAP Concur. “By becoming the first online booking tool to integrate emissions calculations tied to the ISO 14083 standard, we’re empowering our customers with the accurate and consistent data needed to make informed decisions and for reporting.”
