Copies of presentations and handouts from the September conference held by the Society of Collegiate Travel & Expense Management (SCT&EM) are now available on the organization’s web site, according to a recent announcement by executive director Debbie Gulliver. A “save the date” communication is expected to be sent before January for the 2012 conference, she says, adding that the board welcomes members’ “input, feedback and suggestions as we craft an agenda that is relevant, thought-provoking and stimulating for both the first time attendee and the SCTEM conference veterans.”
The 2011 conference was held this fall at the Biltmore Hotel in Providence, RI. Presentation topics included establishment of new travel programs; making managed travel mandatory in a collegiate environment; negotiating contracts for international travel; how to measure the effectiveness of a travel program; current trends in card programs; legislative issues impacting collegiate travel; RFP processes; and the impact of mobile solutions. Presenters included representatives of Williamette University; the University of Notre Dame; the University of California’s Davis and Irvine campuses; Boston, Yale and Georgetown universities; and the Educational and Institutional Cooperative, a not-for-profit collaborative purchasing organization.
