Mandated card programs may soften future shocks.
New government regulations targeted at the credit card industry are focused on the consumer market. That’s giving some organizations a welcome sense of security about increases in their own costs of covering business travelers’ individual costs. Corporate card programs did not fall under the shelter of the Credit Card Accountability, Responsibility and Disclosure (CARD) Act of 2009. Because these programs are governed by contracts, they have their own built-in protection.
