Continuing its extensive corporate social responsibility initiatives, the Los Angeles BTA has pledged to match, up to $2,500, funds raised at its annual gala this month for the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank. As the Foodbank is able to generate four meals for every $1 raised, LABTA’s goal is to contribute approximately 60,000 meals valued at $15,000 through its various efforts.

The pledge is part of an increased alignment and participation by the Association with the Foodbank, which is a member organization of Feeding America.

LABTA has also helped fellow Angelinos in need this year with volunteerism, member fundraising and by hosting a food drive.

On October 23rd, close to 40 LABTA volunteers assembled food packages for women, children and the elderly. Their efforts yielded 1,380 packages; an equivalent of 19,320 meals.

Additionally, LABTA members held a food drive (food collection) at their November 10th monthly meeting, netting several thousand additional meals. So far members have raised $2,500 (toward a goal of $5,000) from their own personal funds and company contributions.

Other CSR initiatives at LABTA include participation in the Revlon Walk in the Fight of Women’s Cancers, and Heal the Bay beach cleanup initiatives.
