United reinstated some previously announced suspended flights in an effort to get travelers back to their home countries. While United's international schedule will still be reduced by about 90% in April, the airline will continue flying six daily operations to and from destinations in Asia, Australia, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe – in an effort to get customers where they need to be. Flights that have been reinstated include: Newark to Amsterdam, Munich and Brussels; Washington-Dulles to London; San Francisco to Frankfurt; and Newark to São Paulo. Flights that will continue through May include Newark to Frankfurt, London and Tel Aviv; Houston to São Paulo; and San Francisco to Tokyo and Sydney. The carrier said that in destinations where government actions have barred it from flying, it is actively looking for ways to bring customers who have been impacted by travel restrictions back to the US. This includes working with the U.S. State Department and local governments to gain permission to operate service.
