Turkish Airlines will begin flying from Newark Liberty International Airport to the new Istanbul Airport on May 21. The carrier will have four flights per week to and from Istanbul until the end of May, and on June 1 will increase its frequency to daily flights. Newark is Turkish’s 10th US gateway. With its centrally located hub at the new Istanbul Airport, scheduled to be the world’s largest upon completion around 2025. Turkish flies to 320 destinations in 127 countries spanning five continents​, and is positioned to connect to more than 60 additional destinations within a three-hour flight​. The Newark gateway will be the airline’s 321st destination globally. Premium onboard dining, including hot meals and beverage services, which were previously restricted due to the pandemic, were recently resumed for all Business and Economy Class flights longer than 2 hours and 15 minutes. Versace amenity kits and active noise-canceling Denon headphones are also available for international Business Class flights.
